Course enrolment

What's the weather today?
That's easy to explain! We actually have all variations of rain: heavy rain, light rain, drizzle, ...
The clouds are appr. 1.000ft high and we have a cosy temperature of about 14°C.

That looks like:

Course enrolment
After a short course introduction of all courses offered (even our international coordinator doesn't know which courses are offered and which aren't .... it is a "little" mess actually), we got a library introduction as well. After these introductions we got the possibility to enrol to our requested courses by using a web application (called WinhaWille) in the Intranet. The courses in WinhaWille are completly mixed up as well. Some courses don't show up even if they should be availible. Some courses have a wrong study code .... Furthermore we have to check ourselves if our requested courses aren't overlapping, which was unfortunately the case for me. So I had to chance some courses to be able to get all ECTS credits.

I'm going to do the following courses in this semester:
  • Asia-Pacific as a business area
  • Information systems for business
  • Management & Organisations
  • Corporate Finance
  • Culture & Management
  • Trade, Law & Internal Market
  • Survival Finnish for foreigners
Summed up, I should get 32 ECTS credits.
Let's hope and see if the enrolment worked as it should. My schedule is okay, it looks like:
  • Monday 11.00 - 13.45
  • Tuesday 11.00 - 16.45
  • Wednesday 11.00 - 13.45
  • Thursday 14.00 - 16.45
  • Friday 09.00 - 10.45
  • some additional Saturdays as well
That's the thing for today.

course approvals

Because every course I'd like to attend at Metropolia University in Helsinki has to be approved by my local FH Wien, I have to fill in a form with my requested courses. This form has to be approved by the head of our degree programm. Unfortunately he is on holiday till tomorrow and there's hardly any time left until the online course application starts (tomorrow ;-) ).
Tomorrow, I'll call our head to be informed wether he is satisfied with my course requests or not.

Nevertheless, Metropolia UAS offers a lot of very interesting courses with higher credits (ECTS) than we are used to have in Austria. Thankfully I got loads of information about great courses and lecturers by Antonia, which visited the former Metropolia (EVTEK) last period.

Let's see and hope!
